GBI WTC was born from a vision that God conveyed directly to Rev. Dr. Ir. Yonathan Wiryohadi (Senior Pastor) to build a new altar for God. The altar speaks of God's favorite place, where God can manifest Himself to His people so they have the opportunity to experience an encounter with God, then grow, experience life changes, and become a blessing to their community, city, and nation.

Together with Rev. Djuhardi Hardja, SE (Associate Senior Pastor) , Rev. Ir. Bebas Pinem, MM. MTH (Associate Senior Pastor) , Rev. Lie Darmawan, S.Kom (Associate Senior Pastor) and several other members, GBI WTC held its first service on February 22, 2004. The service, which was initially attended by around 300 congregants, continued to experience significant growth and increase in the number of souls.

Currently, there are more than 15,000 believers and 57 branch churches that God has entrusted to GBI WTC, and this will continue to increase and grow!

Various ministries were born to occupy and serve in the seven pillars of life (Spiritual and Social Pillar, Family Pillar, Business Pillar, Education Pillar, Government and Politics Pillar, Arts and Entertainment Pillar, Media Pillar). Under the guidance of the Senior Pastor, all ministries synergize to reach souls and contribute positively to solving various problems that occur in communities, cities and nations in line with the desires of God's heart, so that the Kingdom of heaven can be established on earth.
