As we continue in The Year of Great Harvest, Pastor Wiryohadi delivered a powerful message on how we can truly experience an abundant spiritual harvest. He emphasized that to see a great harvest in our lives, we not only need to find a good seed but also ensure that it is planted in good soil—representing our hearts and readiness to receive God’s Word.
Understanding the Mystery of the Kingdom
In Matthew 13:11, Jesus revealed that the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven are given to those who seek and understand. However, many struggle to receive these truths because of the condition of their hearts. Using the parable of the sower, Pastor Wiryohadi described four types of soil, illustrating different spiritual conditions.
What Kind of Soil Are You?
Soil Along the Path: A Heart That Doesn’t Understand
Some people hear God’s Word but fail to understand it, much like seeds falling on a hard path where birds quickly snatch them away (Matthew 13:19)
How Can We Understand God’s Word?
Read, meditate on, take notes, and apply God’s Word daily (James 1:25).

Rocky Soil: A Heart That Lacks Deep Roots
Jesus described another group—those who receive God’s Word with joy but fall away when difficulties arise because they have no deep roots (Matthew 13:20-21).
How Do We Become Rooted in Christ? True spiritual growth happens when we are deeply rooted in our love for Christ (Ephesians 3:17, Colossians 2:7).
✔ Signs That We Love God:
We dedicate time for worship and prayer.
We love fellow believers as children of God (1 John 5:1).
We obey God’s commands, knowing that they are not burdensome (1 John 5:3).
Preparing Our Hearts for the Great HarvesT
Pastor Wiryohadi reminded us that God’s Word is powerful, but whether or not we bear fruit depends on the condition of our hearts. A hardened heart cannot receive God’s truth, and a shallow heart will not endure through trials. To experience a true harvest, we must cultivate a heart that is open, rooted, and ready for God’s Word to take deep root.
As we walk in The Year of Great Harvest, let’s ask ourselves:
🌱 Is my heart ready to receive God’s Word and bear fruit?
🌱 Am I actively seeking to understand and apply His truth?
🌱 Am I growing deeper in my love for Jesus?
The condition of our hearts determines the kind of harvest we will see. Let’s be good soil, ready for God’s abundant blessings!
