On the third weekend of June, Pastor Yonathan Wiryohadi brought a timely and prophetic word as part of the Great Harvest series, titled “A Church with Heaven’s S.O.P.” In this message, Pastor Wiryohadi shared God’s promise that if the church, businesses, and ministries are operated according to the Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.) of the Kingdom of Heaven, God Himself will cause them to grow and become a place of refuge and impact for many.

The Promise of Growth and Purpose

Referring to Matthew 13:31-32, Pastor Wiryohadi reminded the congregation of Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed: though it starts small, it grows into a large tree where many birds come and rest on its branches.

God desires for our church, businesses, careers, and ministries to grow because He has a vested interest in them — not for personal glory, but so that many souls (likened to birds) can find refuge, hope, and life through them.

The S.O.P. of the Kingdom of Heaven

Pastor Wiryohadi then unpacked the heart of Heaven’s S.O.P. found in Matthew 22:37-40:

  • Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind

  • Love people as yourself

On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

Meaning, all religious practices, rituals, even prophecies, and spiritual disciplines are meaningless without love for God and people at the center.

The Heartbeat of Jesus’ Ministry

Quoting Matthew 9:35-38, Pastor Wiryohadi described how Jesus was moved with compassion for people who were:

  1. Weary — those who feel exhausted, directionless, stuck in cycles of failure and poverty, or even mentally broken.

  2. Abandoned — orphans, the homeless, street children, and those without family or care.

  3. Sick and Weak — those needing healing, care, and restoration, whether they come to church or not.

The church’s calling is to become a safe place for these souls — just like the mustard tree provides shelter for many.

Kingdom S.O.P. Brings Influence

Lastly, Pastor Wiryohadi emphasized that a church, no matter how small, can powerfully influence its community and city when it operates by Heaven’s S.O.P.

Like yeast in dough, it may start small, but its impact will permeate through neighborhoods, communities, and eventually cities. Compassion and love-driven ministries always leave a lasting mark.

Will we become a church, business, and people led by Heaven’s S.O.P. — Love God, Love People — and bring transformation wherever we go?
